"A couple of years ago we had Ofracas in Thee Humbug magazine and stocked their magnificent singles on Marquis Cha Cha. This new album collects together those early single and a pile of new recordings to create Ofraca's debut album "Fits & Starts". It's a case of the title aptly fitting the content, with the boys knocking out shuddering-juddering, genuinely angular pop in the vein of bands like Joseph K, or more recently, early Futureheads. The highlight for me is still their mesmerising "Zeros & Ones", but it's a quality CD which gives more & more on repeated listens. Dive in!" |
