Thee SPC Say
Two wonderfully original songs from one of the best (& surprisingly tallest) bands in Sheffield. They mix skewed, angular guitar pop with folk & almost medieval melody to spell-binding effect. Reviewers struggle to find comparisons and they've been likened to artists ranging from Super Furry Animals, British Sea Power and Clinic to Syd Barrett, XTC and The Futureheads. Still wide of the mark, I think.
A Selection of Reviews
"Slow-building mesmeric layers of shifting simplicity. None of these words does the record justice. Here's one that does: Knockout" Robot & Eletronic Brains Fanzine
"Almost Gregorian with its chants, a rumination on some sort of doomed romance maybe, and with that twitchy angular melancholy which help the band stand out. Supertram is a witty and deeply scornful sideways peak at the desperation of celebrity. Top Stuff."Sandman Magazine
"This is a good dose of old-school indie in the mould of a much happier Fall, or a much better Franz Ferdinand. Its spiky, it’s northern, it will make you dance and think. Great songs." Tasty Fanzine
"The A side is probably the best song I've heard this week. I don't know how to describe it. The vocals are really interesting. Its quite mad." Norman Records
